'Ice Dancing ....................... .....................Jennifer Wester and Daniil Barantsev used the energy from the crowd to finish fourth with a score of 174.37 points. " (The fans) reacted to programs with such enthusiasm that you couldn't help but feel supported by the people in the stadium." Wester said. " Every performance was a challenge as this was only my second international competition and Daniil's first major international competition in six years, but the crowd eased our nerves." In looking back at their season, Wester said the team overcame many rough spots stemming from a knee injury she suffered in January 2007. "The surgery and an entire season of rehabilitation were incredibly difficult for both Daniil and I to deal with, especially when training," said Wester, who with Barantsev placed fourth at the 2008 U.S. Championships. "It also affected our daily activities. Pasquale (Camerlengo) and Angelika (Krylova) were exceptional in their ability to work around my day-to-day limitations." Wester is now pain free, she said.' |
